Default to clarity

Specs, acceptance criteria, and risks belong in writing—even if it is a short memo with sketches. Reviews exist to align context, not to score points. That discipline pays off most when collaboration is remote or async.

Sustainable tempo

We avoid glorifying crunch. Bursts happen, but our baseline leaves space for retrospectives and buffer. If you naturally finish work early and tighten the next bottleneck, people notice.

Paths are non-linear

Some teammates go deep on a stack; others grow toward product or partnerships. Fit matters more than title ladders—as long as ownership and kindness scale with scope.

Learning budget that ships

Internal demos beat mandatory slide nights. External courses are welcome when tied to an upcoming milestone. Notes that survive the week become shared docs.
